Vox Populi, Vox Dei
Vox is a registered charity. You give, you propose the work your street needs, and you vote on which projects get built. Every gift is tax deductible and every dollar is published.
The mission
Bring back beauty, order and grandeur to civilisation.
Vox pays for the things that make a place worth living in: squares, fountains, gates, planting, lighting and restoration. As the fund grows, members decide what else it should pay for, from a resurfaced street to the case for a railway.
First project
Potholes on Weston Street. They have been on the council works list since 2019. We will do the worst fourteen in a fortnight.

Give
Once, monthly, or out of your pay. Every gift is deductible, so it comes off your taxable income.

Vote
Each round has a fixed pot. You vote on a shortlist that has been costed and permitted.

Vox pays the full cost. Licensed contractors bid for the job through the app.

The finished work carries a plate with a scan code. It opens the ledger and everyone who paid for it.

At the top of the ladder Vox does not lay track. It pays for the business case nobody else will fund, and it proves the demand with members who have already put money behind it. A finished case and four hundred thousand votes change what a minister can ignore.
The app
Give, vote and follow the work
The app is where you give, vote and follow the work. Sponsors use it to manage the areas they hold. Contractors use it to bid for jobs.
A working prototype runs in the browser. You can move through the ballot, cast a vote, set a gift and watch the weight change, and open a job the way a contractor would.

Be told when giving opens
Giving opens when the charity is registered and endorsed. Leave your name, your email and your postcode, and you will be told when it does, along with the first ballot in your area. No money is taken and no account is created.
